Implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Letter in Reply for China-Laos Friendship Nongping Primary School Related Activities Held in Beijing Time:2024/06/24

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 7 –On the 7th May, a meeting was held in Beijing to thoroughly implement the important inspiring aspirations reflected in General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter in reply to the teachers and students of China-Laos Friendship Nongping Primary School and to summarize the achievments of the two-year “the Silk Road Community Building Initiative” held in Beijing.

Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, attended the meeting and highlighted that General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter in reply demonstrating on the original aspiration for the everlasting China-Laos friendship and offering valuable guidance for people-to-people cooperation among Belt and Road countries. He emphasized the need to adhere to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions by continuously enhancing cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civil societies along with the BRI, thereby cementing sound bonds of friendship of the peoples and fostering broader consensus on building a community with a shared future for mankind.

The summary meeting was co-hosted by the China NGO Network for International Exchanges and the China Foundation for Peace and Development. It brought together over 80 representatives from embassies in China, including those from Laos, Lebanon, Mongolia, Namibia, and Nepal, as well as more than 40 domestic social organizations. The Silk Road Community Building Initiative, launched at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2019, which has more than 300 public livelihood projects completed in past two years, and facilitated about 600 pair partners between NGOs in China and the world.
