ABOUT CFPD

Founded in Beijing in January 2011, China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) is a charitable organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. Under the supervision of the International Department of CPC Central Committee and enjoying the special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, CFPD is aimed to disseminate the concept of peace and development, carry out international public welfare projects and people-to-people exchanges activities, as well as support Chinese social organizations to participate in international exchanges, so as to promote peaceful development and common prosperity of the world. Gao Yunlong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CFPD, is also Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.


Since its founding, CFPD has carried out about 80 charitable livelihood projects in34 neighboring countries and the countries along the Belt and Road including Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Philippines, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Sudan, Zambia, and Tanzania, with accumulated investments of over 200 million yuan (RMB) and hundreds of thousands people benefited. CFPD has also hosted a large number of events and activities for international exchanges, such as the “Peace and Development Forum" and "Friends of the Silk Road Dialogue", to name some. Delegations from countries around the world have been invited to China for exchanges and discussions on various topics including social governance, new media, modern agriculture and sustainable development. Such efforts serve as a great contribution to the people-to-people connectivity of countries along the Belt and Road. 


In April 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping wrote in the letter replied to the students and teachers of Laos-China Friendship Nongping Primary School donated by CFPD, “I wish there would be more envoys for people-to-people connectivity like CFPD who devotes their efforts in countries along the BRI to enhance cooperation and benefit local people.”
