Handover Ceremony of the China-Laos Friendship “Friends on the Silk Road” 8 Primary and Secondary Schools was held in Xaysomboun Province Time：2026/04/09
On the 25th March, China-Laos friendship “Friends on the Silk Road”8 primary and secondary schools sponsored by China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) handover ceremony was successfully held in Xaysomboun province. Wang Heming, secretary-general of CFPD, Vilay VONGKHASEUM, vice-President of Lao Federation of Trade Union (LFTU), board member of Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity(LCPS), Phetsamay phosayyavong,Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Committee of LPRP, vice-President of administration and management committee of Xaysomboun province, Mr Sulung Phommachan, Chief of the education and sports bureau of Xaysomboun province attended and addressed at the ceremony. More than 100 representatives of the teachers, students and local villagers witnessed to the cheerful moment of the schools handover.

Lao side speaks highly on the donation the CFPD has contributed to the 14 provinces and municipality in Laos with the sponsored 25 primary and secondary schools, which have effectively improved the basic facilities of the local educational infrastructure in terms of the cultivated educational environment for the teachers and students, have made important contributions to nurturing talents and national development of Laos. The pragmatic cooperation of the two sides vividly demonstrates the profound China-Laos friendship between the two parties, nations, and peoples, characterized by shared destiny and mutual support, and plays a positive role in advancing the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future.
During visit in Laos, CFPD working group payed a courtesy call on Sommad PHOLSENA, vice-President of Lao National Assembly and President of Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity, Fang Hong, Ambassador to Laos, a return visit to China-Laos Friendship Nongping primary school, while a work meeting with Zhou Jianbin, Executive Vice President, China Southern Power Grid Lancang-Mekong International Co., Ltd.
