CFPD Meets with Former President of Nepal Bhandari Time:2025/06/17
In the morning on May 27, Xu Jianguo, secretary general of CFPD was invited to meet with Mrs. Bidhya Devi Bhandari, former President of Nepal and held working talks together. The two sides briefly exchanged on works, major focused fields, traced back the previous cooperation of the two foundations in retrospective. Meanwhile the two sides discussed on bilateral cooperation in depth and envisaged on the relevant project cooperation among others.
Liu Zhenzhong, deputy secretary general of CFPD, Zhao Meiling, founder of “Silk Road Happiness” Special Fund, and Mr. Kailash Kumar, Mr. Bhesh Raj Adhikari, Mr. Binay K C, members of executive central committee of MBF attended the meeting.
Xu Jianguo marked that this year is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal. The people of the two nations share a common understanding and friendship up from generations with good neighborhood and partnership. The previously cooperated public welfare likelihood projects by CFPD and MBF has played a sound role in promoting people-to-people friendship between China and Nepal. Hopefully, the regular communication can be maintained by our two sides. We are willing to carry out more projects within capacity oriented to be conducive to the development of China-Nepal relations and the enhancement of People-to-People Connectivity between the two countries.
Bhandari expressed her sincere gratitude to the party, government and people of China for the long-term devoted assistance to Nepal, and spoke highly of the achievements of the project cooperation between the two sides. She hopes that a long-term and sustainable partnership can be established with the CFPD and China-Nepal People-to-People Connectivity can be further enhanced by effective cooperation on the people's livelihood projects. She suggested that TODAY can be considered as a fresh new starting point for future cooperation.
Zhao Meiling shared the cooperation between Women Empowerment Development Society in Asia and Africa and the Nepal-China Friendship Forum, as well as the cooperating works in Africa. She expressed her willingness to actively continue to promote cooperation in areas such as the development and education of women and children on cooperation with Nepal in the future in context of the development of friendly relations between China and Nepal.
