Planting the Tree of Friendship: China-Cambodia Collaborates to Revitalize Cambodian Village Time:2024/06/24

On May 12, a symbolic gesture of friendship took place in a small village, home to 125 families and over 500 residents, approximately 60 kilometers south of Phnom Penh. Kemreat Viseth, Chairman of the Cambodian Civil Society Alliance Forum, wields a shovel to add soil, while Liu Zhanguo, Director of the China Foundation for Peace and Development's office in Cambodia, pours water into the respective area, together planting a Romduol tree that symbolizes the enduring and steadfast friendship between China and Cambodia.

"The Romduol flower, as the national flower of Cambodia, stands as a symbol of our nation's identity. This tree will inevitably thrive, embodying the deep-rooted and blossoming civil and cultural exchanges between the peoples of China and Cambodia," remarked a local official to the Chinese guests, as they stood beside the newly planted Romduol tree sapling.
