China Foundation for Peace and Development Donates Living Supplies to the People of Myanmar Time:2024/06/19
On September 11th, the China Foundation for Peace and Development collaborated with the Nay Oke Foundation to donate 100 bags of rice, each weighing 25kg, to 100 impoverished families in the Yangon New Town area of Kyauktan Township, Yangon. This donation helped over 400 struggling residents. The Yangon New Town area in Kyauktan Township is comprised of 11 villages spanning across 4 different administrative regions, with a total population exceeding 40,000 residents. The respective donation aims to alleviate the burden of food shortages faced by many struggling families, and provide assistance for epidemic prevention in the area.
Established in 2011, the China Foundation for Peace and Development has completed a variety of public welfare projects in Myanmar over the past decade, ranging from the implementation of healthcare services, to the establishment of education opportunities, cultural exchanges, and humanitarian aid. These initiatives have played a significant role in further strengthening the China-Myanmar friendship.
At the donation event, the Textile and Garment Association of the Chinese Enterprise Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar also donated 50 bags of rice, benefiting over 200 people. Beyond that, the China-Myanmar Association of Economic Cooperation and Development donated over 50,000 masks for epidemic prevention to the local temple-hospital.
