Xu Jianguo, the Secretary-General of CFPD, met with the Ambassador of Gabon to China, Podleyre Ndong Ellaand his delegation Time：2023/07/14

On June 9th, Xu Jianguo, the Secretary-General of the China Peace Development Foundation, met with the Ambassador of Gabon to China, Podleyre Ndong Ella, and his delegation. The friendly meeting focused on the "Health Love Package" project implemented in Gabon. Liu Yuhe, former Chinese Ambassador to Algeria and Tunisia (also concurrent Ambassador to Palestine), Liu Zhenzhong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Foundation, Zhao Meiling, President of the Asia-Africa Women's Development and Rights Protection Promotion Association, and Han Jinming, Chairman of the Hezhi Cultural Foundation and painter, attended the meeting.

Xu Jianguo gave a brief introduction on the Foundation's efforts in implementing livelihood projects in countries along the Belt and Road, and emphasized that the "Health Love Package" project in five African countries is a "small yet beautiful" initiative jointly launched by CFPD and the Asia-Africa Women's Development and Rights Protection Promotion Association. Its aim is to benefit vulnerable groups in Africa and promote the well-being of African countries. The friendship between China and Gabon has a long history and is an unbreakable bond between good friends and partners. It is hoped that this opportunity will further enhance the friendship between the two country. In the next step, the "Silk Road Happiness" Special Fund will be established to specifically assist women and children in need in Asia and Africa, promoting people-to-people connectivity.

Ambassador Podleyre Ndong Ella expressed that thanks to President Xi Jinping's suggestion of the Belt and Road Initiative, the people of Gabon have felt the friendliness and care of Chinese people. He also expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its efforts in promoting people-to-people connectivity between Gabon and China. He believed that as the friendship between the two peoples deepens, the friendly relations between the parties and the two countries will continue to deepen. He hoped that this opportunity would open a new chapter in the friendship between the Chinese and Gabonese people. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Gabon and China, and he looks forward to further enhancing cooperation with the Foundation.

Zhao Meiling stated that promoting the development and rights of women and children in Asia and Africa is the mission of the Asia-Africa Women's Development and Rights Protection Promotion Association. She hopes that the "Health Love Package" project will bring the children in Gabon who receive assistance the wonderful blessings of the Chinese people. As a Chinese non-governmental organization,the association she represented is willing to contribute to and promote the friendship between China and Gabon within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

After the meeting, Ambassador Podleyre Ndong Ella and his wife, Christina Ndong Ella, tried traditional Chinese paintingunder the guidance of Han Jinming.
