CFPD held the 10th meeting of the Second Council Time：2023/07/12

The 10th meeting of the Second Council of China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) was held in Beijingon July 5th, 2023. Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of the CFPD; Li Ran, Standing Committee Member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, Vice Chairman of the Beijing Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Chairman of Xinqiao United Financial Holding Group, and Vice Chairman of the CFPD; Xu Jianguo, Secretary-General of CFPD; Liu Zhenzhong, Deputy Secretary-General of CFPD and Directors Yu Xiangdong, Xu Zewei, Zhang Baozhong, Huang Li, Pan Dongfeng, as well as some authorized representatives of the directors attended the meeting. Jiang Zhigang, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Liu Weiyang and Sun Jie, members of the Supervisory Board, also attended the meeting.

Chairman Gao Yunlong presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. He pointed out that this year is the starting year for fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Under the guidance and care of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), CFPD has made efforts to explore and promote the smooth and orderly development of all work.We also actively contribute to serving the overall diplomatic interests of the country and promoting people-to-people connectivity. He expressed several hopeful requirements for the future work of CFPD:

First,it is to enhance the political positioning and actively fulfill its responsibilities.CFPD has grown under the caring guidance ofXi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and other central leaders. It shall shoulder the heavy responsibilities and missions assigned by the Party and benchmark the central tasks of the country. It shall have the abilities to actively adapt to changes, strengthen its overall planning and take more actions to create a new pattern of China's major-country diplomacy. Second, CFPD shall conduct extensive and in-depth research, improve the quality and efficiency of its work and expand its influence.It should always adhere toa problem-oriented approach,keep onchanging experiences and mutual learning.To create a sense of presence and truly win the hearts of the beneficiary population while conveying the friendliness of Chinese people, it shall combine "going out" and "inviting in" in its projects and works. Third, it shall enrich the content and improve the quality of its projects. CFPD shall become “the messengers” for people-to-people connectivity bycontinuallyfocusing on neighboring countries and countries related to the Belt and Road Initiative, expanding cooperative countries and beneficiary groups, actively exploring areas like green ecology and traditional culture, creating public welfare project brands with international influence and exemplary effects, and building links for people-to-people connectivity. Fourth, CFPD shall consolidate common values, work hand in handthrough difficultiesand support its development. It is necessary to bravely forge ahead, mobilize more social forces to cooperatively participate in improving people’s living condition.Gather its strength and contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind and promoting world peace and development.

The attending directors and supervisors carefully deliberated on the "Summary of Work in the First Half of 2023 of China Foundation for Peace and Development" and the "2022 Financial Report of China Foundation for Peace and Development," and conducted in-depth discussions on the work of CFPD. They believed that the foundation has actively expanded the field of projects and its founding scale, and are continually improving its internal construction. All work has achieved remarkable results. They expressed their willingness to actively leverage their advantages to support the development of the foundation in their respective fields and jointly make greater contributions to deepen the people-to-people exchanges. They are keen to promotecharitable livelihood cooperation, and enhance people-to-people connectivity.
