Xu Jianguo, Secretary General of CFPD Led Working Group to Field Visits in Laos Time：2023/06/07
On 26-30 May 2023, secretary general of China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) led working group attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Laos-China Friendship “Friends on the Silk Road” 5 schools project, and paid a return visit to the Laos-China Friendship Nongping primary school and the China-Laos Friendship Phonxay secondary school. During stay in Laos, CFPD working group separately paid courtesy calls on H.E. Mr. Sommart PHOLSENA, vice president of National Assembly and president of Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity (LCPS), H.E. Mr. Jiang Zaidong, China’s ambassador to Laos, H.E. Mrs. Khanthaly SIRIPHONGPHANH, deputy Minister of Education and Sports of Laos.
Xu Jianguo, secretary general of CFPD, at the groundbreaking ceremony of the China-Laos Friendship “Friends on the Silk Road” 5 schools project, remarked that CFPD has always taken it as its mission and responsibility to build a Lao-China community with a shared future, to carry out more public likelihood projects in Laos by sincere cooperation under the framework of the BRI, to make great efforts to enhance Laos-China traditional friendship down from generations, to devote sound and effective contributions for well-being of the people in Laos. As of now, CFPD has sponsored 17 schools, implemented the China-Laos Friendship “Friends on the Silk Road” Wisdom Campus project, promoted the medical and materials donation project, upon which those are valued charitable fund amounting to at about RMB 22million. CFPD is willing continuously to make hard efforts to improve basic fundamental education fields in Laos and promote people-to-people connectivity between Laos and China.

On May 28, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Laos-China Friendship “Friends on the Silk Road” 5 schools project was held in Sayabouly province. Mr. Phetvisay SOUNVILAY, vice governor of Sayabouly province, Mr. Phouang Keolangsy, deputy president of LCPS attended the ceremony and separately delivered a speech.
In the afternoon on May 28, CFPD working group paid a field visit at Phoufamixay primary school.
On May 29, CFPD working group paid a return visit at the Laos-China Friendship Phonxay secondary school and had an meeting with the teachers and students.
