CFPD Held Silk Road Library Donation Ceremony in Yangon, Myanmar Time:2022/04/29

In the morning of April 18, CFPD and Myanmar Chinese Cooperation and Communication Centre held the Silk Road Library donation ceremonyin Yangon, Myanmar. CFPD conducted the Silk Road Library project with the aim to help countries along Belt and Road Initiative facilitate cultural infrastructure and strengthen cultural exchanges with China. Under the framework of the project, CFPD donated many computers and printers to 30 local public libraries in Myanmar. Union Minister for Information of Myanmar U Maung Maung Ohn, Yangon Region Chief Minister of Myanmar U Soe Thein and CFPD Secretary General Xu Jianguo attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Xu Jianguo in his speech quoted that friendship, which derives from close contact between the people, holds the key to sound state-to-state relations. He mentioned that, since its establishment, CFPD has acted as people-to-people messenger and carried out many livelihood projects in friendly countries. Xu concluded that he hoped the Silk Road Library project would advance Myanmarsocial and economic development, and CFPD was willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Myanmar Chinese Cooperation and Communication Centre, so as to make greater contributions to deepening the friendship between the two countries and two peoples.

Yangon Region Vice Chief Minister and Attorney General U Htay Aung, Yangon Region Vice Chief Minister U Win Tin, Director General of Information and Public Relations Department of Myanmar U Aye Kwyal, Senior President of Myanmar Chinese Cooperation and Communication Center Li Bobo and Chairperson Daw Khin Khin Lay attended the ceremony as well.

Myanmar state television and other mainstream media covered the donation.
