The Advanced Seminar for Media of LancangMekong CountriesHeldin Beijing Successfully Time：2021/10/26

    During October 20-25, the Advanced Seminar for Media of Lancang Mekong Countries held in Beijing successfully in the form of webinar. 24 participants from 14 media, including Bayon Television, Hang Meas HDTV, Agence Kampuchea Presse, Rasmei Kampuchea Daily, and CPC News, participated in the seminar online. The Chinese and Cambodian sides discussed and shared their cases and experiences on poverty alleviation, anti-pandemic, and development of new media. Wang Hua, Deputy Secretary General of China Foundation for Peace and Development, Phos Sovann, Director-general of General Department of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Information of Cambodia, Soy Sopheap，Co-president of Cambodia-China Journalist Association, attended the event and delivered speeches.

    Wang Hua expressed that Cambodian media played an irreplaceable and important role in promoting China-Cambodia cooperation as well as China-Lancang Mekong Countries cooperation, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and improving Lancang Mekong awareness. He hoped that Chinese and Cambodian media organizations can contribute to common wealth of these two countries and guard global public health security jointly through deeper cooperation and sharing experience and results of media, anti-pandemic, and poverty alleviation.

    Soy Sopheap expressed that the Advanced Seminar for Media of Lancang Mekong Countries is a good chance for Cambodian and Chinese media organizations to communicate together. He hoped that China may provide Cambodian media organizations with more training opportunities to help Cambodian journalists to get sustainable training and capability building so that they may serve the public better in public information dissemination.
