For Two Years, The Joint Action for Silk Road Community Building Initiative! Time:2021/05/08
On May 7, China NGO Network for
International Exchanges (CNIE) and China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD)
jointly held The Second Anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Letter in
reply to the Students and Teachers of Laos-China Friendship Nongping Primary
School and the Silk Road Community Building Initiative. Song Tao, Minister of
the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and
delivered keynote speech. Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International
Department of the CPC Central Committee, Xu Jianguo, Secretary-general of
CFPD, Wang Hua, Deputy Secretary-general of CFPD among diplomatic envoys from
Laos, Lebanon, Mongolia, Namibia and Nepal as well as more than 80 representatives
from more than 40 NGOs participated in the event.
Song Tao, in his keynote speech, expressed
that President Xi Jinping replied the letter to the students and teachers of
Laos-China Friendship Nongping Primary School on 29th April 2019. By which
President Xi encourages them to become the successors of the Laos-China
friendship, and expects to have more "People-to-People Connectivity
Envoy" like China Foundation for Peace and Development in devoting to
carry out cooperation and bring de facto benefits to local people in nations along
the Belt and Road regions. General Secretary Xi Jinping’s reply in letter fully
reflects the great importance attached to Laos-China friendly relations and the
high expectation of Laos-China friendship down from generations, and points out
the direction for the cooperation between China and Laos. The replied letter,
which underlines the core of the original aspiration of the BRI is to genuinely
lead common development for all countries along the Belt and Road and to willingly
enable local people to have a life satisfied, speaks highly of the positive
role played by NGOs’ efforts in promoting People-to-People Connectivity.宋涛强调,我们要按照习近平总书记回信重
Song Tao stressed that we should abide by the
important spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter in reply to deepen
the exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations of all countries along
the BRI regions, and lead the international community to build a broad common
consensus on a community of shared future for mankind; we should adhere to
opening up, development and innovation , and mind up on the economic and social
recovery and green development of countries along with the Belt and Road in boosting
people's wellbeing cooperation; we should strengthen on people-to-people
friendly exchanges and consolidate the friendship among peoples of all
countries along with the Belt and Road; we should maintain people as the top
priority of the originated aspiration as to make sure all peoples benefited
from the achievements of the Belt and Road construction.
Xu Jianguo remarked that we are to implement
the important spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s letter in reply resolutely
and conscientiously. And all the staffs of CFPD have greatly encouraged and
motivated ever since. We are to further do our job honored for better and join
hands with more China’s NGOs to develop more public welfare projects in order
to bring benefits to local people in countries along the Belt and Road, as well
as continually promote peaceful development and make contribution to common
prosperity of the world, and to be worthy of the name for People-to-People
Connectivity Envoy.
In 2019, all the teachers and students of
Laos-China Friendship Nongping Primary School wrote a letter to General
Secretary Xi Jinping to express their heartfelt thanks and active willingness
to participate in the Belt and Road construction. General Secretary Xi Jinping
warmly replied that letter. Ever since then for two years, the International Department
of the CPC Central Committee has guided CFPD to implement the spirit of General
Secretary Xi Jiping’s reply in the letter in depth and thoroughness, and to carry
out people-to-people exchanges and cooperation closely following around about
in building a community with shared future of mankind between Laos and China,
while in the meantime to widely develop people’s wellbeing cooperation in
countries along the Belt and Road regions.
The Joint Action for Silk Road Community
Building Initiative was launched by China NGO Network for International
Exchanges at the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in
April 2019. To which it is mainly aimed to focus on two fields of
people-to-people exchanges and people’s wellbeing cooperation in support of and
help for social organizations of various countries to carry out different forms
of seminars, mutual visits and public wellbeing cooperation and so forth. The
Joint Action for Silk Road Community Building Initiative has carried out more
than 300 people’s wellbeing cooperation projects and promoted to have nearly
600 NGOs partnership established between China and the world, resulted in
well-known international influences.
