Spain: the Civil Joint Anti-epidemic Action “Silk Road Family” April 1st, 2020 Time：2020/04/30
In the afternoon of March 31, the handover
ceremony of epidemic control supplies donation under the framework of civil
joint anti-epidemic action “Silk Road Family” was held in Beijing. Spanish
Ambassador to China Rafael Dezcallar de Mazarredo, CFPD Deputy Secretary
General Wang Hua, Director of Public Affairs of Tencent Foundation Zhang
Hairuo, and All-China Environment Federation Deputy Secretary General Li
Ruidong attended the ceremony. The event was initialed by China NGO Network for
International Exchanges, sponsored by Tencent Company, hosted by CFPD with the
participation of All-China Environment Federation.
As a social organization
in China, since its establishment in 2011, CFPD has always uphold the concepts
of peace and development, and devoted to international public welfare
activities, aiming to enhancing mutual understanding and friendly cooperation among
the peoples of the world. In March 2020, in the face of the spread of epidemic,
CFPD actively responded to the call of civil joint anti-epidemic action “Silk
Road Family” , and provided assistance to countries in need through material
donations, and joined hands with international community to combat the
epidemic. Those 1 million masks handed over were donated by Chinese companies.
In such a simple way, we’d like to show the determination to work together to
defeat the COVID-19 outbreak to Spanish people.
In his speech, Ambassador
Dezcallar said it was the largest donation from private sector to Spain in
recent years and that the joint action against the epidemic would further
strengthen the friendship and solidarity between Chinese and Spanish peoples.
He said that since he assumed his post as Spanish Ambassador to China, he had
witnessed the important role played by social organizations in China. He
believed that with the support of China, especially the Chinese people, Spain
will control the pandemic successfully.
Launched by China NGO
Network for International Exchanges at the Second Belt and Road Forum on
international cooperation in April 2019, “Silk Road Family” Action aims to
promote people-to-people exchanges and livelihoods projects cooperation between
Chinese and foreign non-governmental organizations along the Belt and Road,
hoping to promote civilization exchanges and mutual learning, improve people’s
well-being and build people-to-people bonds.
