Chen Hai said that China and Myanmar are linked by mountains and rivers and have deep pauk-phaw friendship. Amid pandemic, both sides support and help each other. Myanmar government and all sectors of society gave generous support when the pandemic broke out in China. China has recently provided a large amount of anti-epidemic materials to Myanmar and sent a team of experts to Myanmar to share anti-epidemic experience and assist Myanmar government in enhancing its epidemic prevention ability. CFPD has actively responded to the Civil Joint Anti-epidemic Initiative “Silk Road Family”, and provided donations to Myanmar government, which is another important act in assistance to Myanmar in fighting the epidemic. It vividly reflects the spirit of the China-Myanmar community of shared destiny. China will continue to help Myanmar win the war against the epidemic and work together for the final victory.

On behalf of Myanmar government, Jordan Tun and Wen Kaimo presented certificates of appreciation to CFPD for providing much-needed anti-epidemic materials to Myanmar, and said that they would distribute these materials as soon as possible to those in dire need to ensure that they played their due role.

The civil joint anti-epidemic action “Silk Road Family” was initialed under the framework of “Silk Road Family” by China NGO Network for International Exchanges, aiming to promote the participation of Chinese non-governmental forces to make contributions in international pandemic control cooperation. The donation was carried out by CFPD, co-financed by Tencent Foundation, Shanghai Pengxin Group, and Fudian Bank Company, with assistance of the relevant departments of Yunnan Province.

CFPD has always valued livelihood projects in Myanmar. In the past 10 years, CFPD has donated nearly 30 million yuan to Myanmar, and carried out projects in various fields such as medical care, education and people-to-people exchanges.
