The First Session of IMPA-Future Leaders Program Witnessed Its Opening Ceremony Time:2020/09/30



On Sept 14th, the opening ceremony of International Master of Public Administration for Future Leaders (IMPA-Future Leaders) program was held in Tsinghua University. Xu Jianguo, Secretary General of CFPD, and Peng Zongchao, Secretary of Party Committee of the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University, were in attendance and made speech. Influenced by the pandemic, Zhang Wenhao, Global President of Tanoto Foundation, attended the event via Internet. 13 students from Mongolia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia and Thailand participated in the opening ceremony online.

In his remarks, Xu Jianguo said that as a world-class renowned university, Tsinghua University has long enjoyed a good reputation in China and beyond, and their scholars are knowledgeable and students are diligent. He expected that all students could achieve academic success and make a vital contribution to their home country after graduation, and bring vitality and vigor into the exchange and cooperation between CCP and the related political parties, and further promote the friendship between China and friendly countries. In the welcoming speech, Peng expressed his gratitude to CFPD and Tanoto Foundation for their strong support for the project, and expected that students could cherish the learning opportunity and successfully complete their studies. Zhang said he looks forward to further cooperation with CFPD and Tsinghua University.

IMPA-Future Leaders program is offered at Tsinghua University, and co-hosted by Tanoto Foundation and CFPD, particularly designed to expand the scope of cooperation and exchange between countries participating in the BRI and to train promising talents. The program is delivered by the School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM), Tsinghua University, mainly for senior government officials in developing countries along the Belt and Road. Through a one-year English-taught study and social practice, it aims to cultivate high-level public management professionals with global vision and international influence.

Zhang Ke, secretary general of Tanoto Foundation, and Zhu Xufeng, vice dean of the School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University, also attended the event.
