The Handover Ceremony of China-Cuba 60th Anniversary Commemorative Medal Was Held in Beijing Time:2020/09/30
On September 25, the handover ceremony China-Cuba 60th anniversary commemorative medal was held in Beijing to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba, to deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The event was jointly organized by the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), Zhongyu Lidu Culture Company and Cuba Embassy in China Beijing. Honored guests include: Wang Hua, Deputy Secretary General of CFPD; Carlos Miguel Pereira, Cuban Ambassador to China; Xing Fengliang, founder of Zhongyu Lidu; Ambassador Lugris, the head of the Latin American Mission to China and the Uruguayan Ambassador to China.
In his speech, Deputy Secretary General Wanghua mentioned
that last year, artists from China and Cuba jointly created commemorative
covers to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic
of China, which launched the start of successful
cooperation between CFPD, Zhongyu Lidu and Cuba Embassy in China Beijing.
Today, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic
relations between China and Cuba, we worked together again to design this piece
of commemorative medal to jointly express our best wishes to the two counties
and two peoples. Based on elements of art works of the two countries, the commemorative
medal is worthy of being treasured and of historical significance. Standing at
a new historical starting point, as promoters of cultural exchanges and mutual
learning, we are ready to work with Cuban people to deepen cultural exchanges
and mutual understanding between Chinese, Latin Americans and Caribbeans, and
join hands to build a community of a shared future for mankind.

Ambassador Pereira highly affirmed the cultural value of the commemorative medal, saying that it has witnessed the friendship between the two peoples. He paid gratitude to CFPD and Zhongyu Lidu for their lasting efforts to promote the all-round development of bilateral relations. Pereira also recalled the 100 year history of friendly exchanges between Cuban and Chinese. He looked forward to further efforts and cooperation between the two parties, governments and peoples to promote the healthy development of China-Latin America relations.
Entrepreneur Representatives from Beijing, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Yunnan also took part in the event and showed their main products.
The event received widespread media coverage from China News, People’s Political Consultative Conference Website, China Radio International and other media. On the same day, Granma, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, reported the commemorative medal in front page with pictures.
