Pakistan: Joint Action for Defeating the COVID-19 Silk Road Community Building Initiative Time：2020/05/01

    On April 30, the handover ceremony of Pakistan's anti epidemic materials for the Joint Action for Defeating the COVID-19 Silk Road Community Building Initiative was held at the embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, China. The Ambassador of Pakistan to China H.E. Naghmana A. Hashmi, Secretary General of China Foundation for Peace and Development Xu Jianguo, Deputy Secretary General of Chinese Medical Association Jiang Yongmao, General Manager of Zhongyulidu Culture Co., Ltd. Liu Cong and others attended the ceremony.
Ambassador Naghmana A. Hashmi said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners. In history, no matter what kind of disaster happens to China or Pakistan, the two iron brothers can always stand up for each other at the first time. The friendship between the people of China and Pakistan is the strongest cornerstone of bilateral relations. In this global anti epidemic campaign, China and Pakistan support and help each other. Pakistan is the only country that has not withdrawn overseas Pakistanis since the outbreak of the epidemic in China. And the Pakistani people have received a lot of care in China. There is no case of infection and no case of import from China to Pakistan. At present, Pakistan is at the peak of the epidemic. The Chinese government, enterprises and people have donated a lot of materials to Pakistan. I would like to express my deep gratitude and pledge to deliver the materials to Pakistan to save more lives as soon as possible.
    Secretary General Xu Jianguo said that Pakistan has always been a country that CFPD focus on. And CFPD has carried out many projects in Pakistan, such as education and skills training, which have been well received by the Pakistani people. This time, Pakistan has made a deep impression on the Chinese people with all its assistance to China. The Chinese nation is a grateful nation. President Xi said that the grace of dripping water should be reciprocated by a gushing spring. And now with 300,000 surgical face masks as a small gift, we hope it can help the Pakistani people to fight the epidemic and get through the difficulties. At the same time, we would like to thank the Tencent Foundation and Chinese Medical Association for their help to this event.
    The Joint Action for Silk Road Community Building Initiative was launched by China NGO Network for International Exchanges in April 2019 on the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. It aims to promote the culture exchanges and people's livelihood cooperation for Chinese and foreign non-governmental organizations along the line of One Belt and One Road, Promote civilized exchanges and mutual learning, improve people's wellbeing of all countries, and realize heart to heart communication between people of all countries.
