China-Cambodia "Friends on the Silk Road" Happy Spring Project started in Takeo Province Time：2018/09/03

On May 10th, the China-Cambodia “Friends on the Silk Road” Happy Spring Project was officially launched in Bati District, Takeo Province. Liu Kaiyang, deputy secretary-general of the China Foundation for Peace and Development (the Foundation), Kermeat Viseth, chairman of Civil Society Alliance Forum (the Alliance Forum), Upe, the Governor of Takeo Province, and Congressman Shiwanda attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. More than 500 people such as local residents, media people, and representatives from more than twenty Chinese social organizations participated in the event.

The “Friends on the Silk Road” Happy Spring Project is a livelihood-improvement project jointly implemented by the Foundation and the Alliance Forum. According to the agreement, the Foundation will fund the Alliance Forum to build two hundred deep water wells in Bati District and Borei Chulsar District of Takeo Province to solve the water shortage problem for tens of thousands of local families. The project was officially started in September 2018 and is expected to be completed and delivered in September 2019.
