The Cambodian Government Awarded the Highest Royal Monisarapan Medal to the CFPD Time：2018/02/13

On February 1, Bin Chhin, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, awarded China Foundation for Peace and Development (the Foundation) the Highest Royal Monisarapan Medal in the Prime Minister’s Office in recognition of the Foundation’s important contribution to Cambodia’s education.

Bin Chhin said that at present, China-Cambodia relations have maintained a good momentum for development. Exchanges in various fields have become increasingly frequent, and non-governmental exchanges and cooperation have continued to deepen. Since 2012, the Foundation has successively carried out fruitful cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the Civil Society Alliance Forum. The Foundation has successively funded the China-Cambodia Friendship Central Hospital, Indra Devi High School, five other “Friends on the Silk Road” schools, small agricultural water conservancy facilities, etc. Those facilities have made important contributions to promote Cambodian people’s livelihood, especially in the way of infrastructure, education, and health care. In September 2017, the Foundation and the Cambodian partner signed a memorandum to deepen cooperation in education and health. The Cambodian Royal Government highly appreciated this and is willing to carry out pragmatic cooperation with the Foundation to enhance the friendly feelings of the two peoples and deepening the bilateral relations.

Yu Xiaoxuan said that the medal the Foundation received this time is a full affirmation from the Cambodian government and people on the achievements of the Chinese-Cambodian civil relations. The Foundation will use this as an opportunity to make greater contributions to promoting the friendship between China and Cambodia.

Kermeat Viseth, Chairman of Civil Society Alliance Forum, and representative from Chinese Embassy in Cambodia attended the ceremony too.
