Launching Ceremony of Philippines-China Friendship Bolton Central Elementary School Project was Held in Davao City Time:2017/02/22
On February 21, 2017, the launching ceremony of Philippines-China Friendship Bolton Central Elementary School Project sponsored by China Foundation for Peace and Development(CFPD) was held in Davao City of the Philippines. Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), who at that time was visiting the Philippines. Minister Song Tao was warmly invited to attend the ceremony and to make a keynote speech. Xu Zhensui, Secretary-General of CFPD, Nadella, the representative of Mayor of Davao City Government, Dayap, Councilor of Davao City and local community leaders as well as representatives of local villagers amounting to a total number of more than 1000 people attended the ceremony.
Minister Song Tao remarked in his speech that the Philippines and China are friendly neighouring countries acrossed over the Sea. The friendship stories of people-to-people exchanges are too numerous to enumerate between the two nations. CFPD's sponsorship for the Philippine livelihood projects are not only the embodiment of the profound friendship between the two countries, but also the common aspiration of the two peoples to strengthen friendly exchanges and to achieve peaceful development. China is willing to promote more NGOs coming to the Philippines cooperating on livelihood projects with respect to contribute to the economic and social development of the Philippines and dedicate to the Philippines-China friendship. Nadella, the representative of Mayor of Davao City Government, who spoke on behalf of the Mayor for expressing heartfelt thanks to China. He emphasized that the School would be officially renamed as the Philippines-China Friendship Bolton Central Elementary School after the completion of the project, and then continued that we would strive to build the School into a first-class school, cultivate more talents and carry out inheritance of the friendship between China and the Philippines. Thereafter, Minister Song Tao also presented schoolbags and stationaries to the representatives of the students.
All of those activities have been reported by mainstream media of the Philippines, such as “Manila Bulletin” “Davao Today” “Mindanao Mirror Daily” . To which it has been rendered active and warm social response.
According to the Agreement, CFPD shall be sponsoring the construction of a 3-storey teaching-building on the original site of the School in Davao City. It is estimated that the educational conditions for about 1000 pupils will be effectively ameliorated. The project is expected to start in June 2017 and and put into use in August 2018.
