Representatives of Teachers and Students of Lao-China Friendship Nongping Primary School Attended Thematic Forum on People-to-people Connectivity of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation Time:2019/04/30

On April 21 to 27, 8-representative from Lao-China Friendship Nongping Primary School who were invited to attend Thematic Forum on People-to-People Connectivity of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Prior to the Forum, they wrote a letter on behalf of the Lao people to President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In that letter they articulated that Lao people are deeply grateful for China’s sponsorship of Lao-China Friendship Nongping Primary school as well as their proactive willingness for participating in the Belt and Road construction. And at the on-site of the Forum, the 8-representative are in most respectful manner to present President Xi Jinping an album composed of 58 elaborately-drawn pictures of “Our Silk Road Stories” by the students of the whole School, implicating for the 58th years anniversary of the well established diplomatic relations between Laos and China. On April 30, President Xi replied to the letter received in that he encourages the students to be the successors of the Lao-China friendship.

 

On April 22, Secretary-General of CFPD, Xu Jianguo warmly welcomed the 8 representatives of teachers and students from Lao-China Friendship Nongping primary school at Beijing headquarter. In his welcome speech, he said that Nongping primary school is the first school entity project sponsored by CFPD in Laos, for which it bears the sincere people-to-people friendship of the two countries. During the meeting, he also kindly addressed that we hope Nongping Primary School will become better and better, and the more talents will be able to cultivate for Laos. Wang Hua, Deputy Secretary-General of CFPD attended the meeting.

 

During their stay in Beijing, Lao Nongping school’s representatives were invited to have fellowship networking activities interact with some teachers and students at Zhengze Primary School in Xicheng District, in addition to touring around about the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and Beijing’s zoo, among other places.
