The CEEC Sustainable Development Observation Group Visits China

At the invitation of China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), Mr. Ujhelyi István, Member of European Parliament, Vice Chairman of Tourism, Transportation, and Infrastructure Committee of European Parliament, led a Central-east European group to visit China in observation of sustainable development practices from Sep 20 to 27, 2016.
Mr. Li Ruogu, Vice Chairman of CFPD, Former President of Export-Import Bank of China, met with the group. In Beijing, the group visited the European Language & Culture School and Silk Road Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University, as well as Huawei Beijing Exhibition Center.
Apart from Beijing, the group has also visited Chengdu and Ya’an of Sichuan Province as their second leg of China visit. In Chengdu, the group visited Chengdu International Railway Harbor, Sichuan Bohong Group, and Chengdu Municipal Government where they met with officials from Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs and Department of Commerce of Sichuan Province and discussed about business and trade relations between China and Central-east European countries.
Then the group left for Ya’an to visit the rehabilitation projects that completed after earthquakes and had a field research of China’s new countryside construction. The group has also met with student representatives who have been to Hungary, at Mr. Ujhelyi István’s invitation and with CFPD’s arrangements, for study and cultural exchange after the earthquake in Ya’an, 2013.
