Handover Ceremony of the Laos-China Friendship Phonesai Secondary School

A handover ceremony for Luang Prabang Laos-China Friendship Phonesai Secondary School was launched on November 30th, 2015. Mr. Li Ruogu, Vice Chairman of CFPD, Mr. Khamphan Simmalavong, President of the Laos Committee for Peace and Solidarity (LCPS), Mr. Bounthong Phaengsavanh, Vice Secretary General of Luang Prabang Province participated in the ceremony and delivered speeches.
Vice Chairman Li Ruogu warmly congratulated the completion of the school. And then he pinpointed that Laos and China are friendly neighboring countries sharing with cultural similarity and geographical linking. Against this background, CFPD has been working hard to step up and strengthen cooperation with Laos in education since 2012. What is more promising is that the cooperative projects started to show good results from gaining understanding and supporting from Lao people. It will be even more convincing and fulfilling if Phonesai School can benefit more youth education and be preformed as platform to bridge the gap for mutual understanding of the peoples of our two nations, especially the youth.
President of LCPS, Mr. Khamphan said that Phonesai Secondary School, sponsored by the CPFD, is not only a single support to our education advancement, but also is the witness of Laos-China friendship. “We are willing to have more cooperation with CFPD in attempt to promote education in Laos and friendship between Laos and China”, added he.
Mr. Bounthong, the Vice Secretary General of Luang Prabang Province, who highly appreciated the sponsorship of CFPD in building up Laos-China Friendship Phonesai Secondary School. He said that the first and foremost I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the CFPD for putting diligent efforts to improve the learning environment of local students and play an active role in promoting education in Luang Prabang Province.
Laos-China Friendship Phonesai Secondary School is funded by the CFPD in April 2014. The process of the project completion had gained great support from the LCPS and Luang Prabang Province. The school is formed of 10 classes, 32 teachers and 550 students, benefiting residents stretching over around 4 villages.
