Mr. Xu Zhensui, Secretary-General of CFPD took the lead of China Health and Epidemic Expert team in attempt to implement medical assistance for the aftermath of flooding in Myanmar at the invitation of China-Myanmar Friendship Association (CMFA) from October 28th to November 4th, 2015.
The kick-starting ceremony for the assistance project was launched at Jin Taw Yan Buddhist Charity Association on October 28th in Mandalay. About 200 participants comprised of local media and public representatives involved in the ceremony. During which some of those who delivered keynote speeches, including Xu Zhensui, Secretary-General of CFPD, Wang Yu—Chinese Consul General in Mandalay, the provincial finance director of Mandalay and Wu Guomin—head of Mandalay branch of Myanmar-China Friendship Association.
The finance director of Mandalay pointed out that on behalf of the Mandalay government, we are willing to see China as our friendly neighboring country that has been on the fast track of development in context with the Sino-Myanmar friendship down from generations. China offers helping hands as always to the people of Myanmar on the forefront of very beginning whenever Myanmar suffering from disastrous conundrum and tides over such tough times together. This makes us understood who the most reliable friend is and that well illustrated as‘a friend in need is a friend indeed’”.

We have been vigorously setting public welfare activities initiatives up, putting efforts to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen friendship as our top priority ever since China Foundation for Peace and Development was established. Hopefully this event will be able to promote thorough and profound positive energy to “BAOBO” friendship in attempt to write even more inspiring chapter between two nations”, addressed Mr. Xu Zhensui.
Consul General, Mr. Wang Yu expressed strong belief in his speech that the friendly action of the medical expert team will bring the peoples of our two nations even more closer because China and Myanmar are good neighbors, brothers and partners.
The China expert team, comprising of Yunnan Disease Control Center and the First People’s Hospital of Yunnan Province, headed to five towns and villages separately located in Mandalay, Ma Kui, Ayeyarwady and Yangon. Where the expert team carried out and implemented post disaster disease control, knowledge guidance and clinic-checking for eye-disease patients for epidemic prevention to the local public health professionals and communities on a volunteer basis, in spite of making a donation accounting for value worth US$90,000.00 for family first aid kits, mosquitoes killing tools and other humanitarian aid. The activity is warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated by the local governments and people wherever as it goes.
