“Brightness Action 2015” in Myanmar for the Fourth Consecutive Year

The Sino-Myanmar “Brightness Action 2015” was jointly organized and conducted by CFPD and Alinyaung Foundation from August 10th—17th, 2015 in the China-Myanmar International Ophthalmic Center.
The CFPD has carried “Brightness Action” out for the fourth consecutive year in Myanmar. Ms. YU Xiaoxuan, Deputy Secretary-General of CFPD, led a 12-member working group encompassing medical experts and staffs in the attempt to implement eye-disease-screening diagnosis and treatment for 200 patients in Myanmar. In addition to that, the working group also implemented cataract operation for 186 patients under eligible conditions and that achieved a rate of 100% success. Furthermore, the working group paid a return visit to 21 recovered cataract patients from the first three batches of cataract surgery in concordance with checking on post operative recovery and listening to feedbacks.
A substantial amount of medicine and aid materials had been donated insofar as to offer helping hands to tide over such a conundrum in the severe flooding period in desire for CFPD to pray for the people in the disaster-affected areas in Myanmar irrespective of “Brightness Action” implementation.
The “Brightness Action”, which has been widely welcomed and warmly embraced by the general public in Myanmar since launched in 2011. The BA has enabled more than 977 eye-disease patients to see clearly once again after receiving free cataract operation.
