Cambodia-China Indra Devi Secondary School—Friends on the Silk Road—Building Inauguration Ceremony in Phnom Penh

The brand-new teaching-building of Indra Devi Secondary School referred to as “Friends on the Silk Road” Building sponsored by CFPD was inaugurated on July 16th, 2015 in Phnom Penh. An array of highly-ranked stakeholders, including Ms. YU Xiaoxuan, Deputy Secretary General of CFPD, Mr. HANG Chuon-Naron, Chief Minister of Cambodian Ministry of Education Youth and Sport and Mr. TAN Qingsheng, Counselor of the Embassy of the P.R.C. in Cambodia as well as Director of Education Bureau of Phnom Penh, who were present at the ceremony. Upon which more than 1,000 representatives of the teachers, the pupils, the parents and the locals along with over 10 media agencies, e.g. TVK, CRI Phnom Penh Office and Jian Hua Daily and so forth, participated and involved in the ceremony.
Ms. YU Xiaoxuan warmly congratulated to the successful completion of the new building. She articulated that Cambodia and China are neighboring countries with a long-lasting friendship down from generation to generation for thousands of years. Since its inception, CFPD has been committing to the pursuit of public welfare and cultural exchange programs in the attempt to promote mutual understanding and friendship between Cambodia and China. And it is fulfilling for us to see the funds have been employed effectively and efficiently. “In order for the youth to have a multidimensional platform in promoting mutual understanding and friendship, an activity room inside the building facilitated with computers, projectors and books among other things is underway in setting up with our additional budget”, Ms. YU asserted.
Minister HANG Chuon-Naron articulated his heartfelt gratitude to Chinese people for their contribution in enhancing and promoting the educational development in Cambodia. As he further pointed out, “Indra Devi School that is a well-known secondary school in Cambodia, the prospective to which the brand-new teaching-building will enable more Cambodian youth to catch better and in-depth understanding about the development process of cooperation and relationship between our two nations. Not only does the brand-new building give a sense of friendship, but also has the teaching and learning milieu significantly improved. And last but not the least I sincere hope that Cambodia-China friendship is to be many lifetimes yet to come”.
