In the afternoon of June 18th, Mr. SUN Jiazheng, Vice Chairman of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, Chairman of the Council of CFPD met with Tajikistan delegation for New Media Development Seminar in Beijing.
Mr. SUN Jiazheng reiterated that the two nations enjoy a time-honored and profound friendship from generations to generations date back to the ancient time. Tajikistan was of the essential route to the way of the Ancient Silk Road. Two thousand years ago, our ancestors jointly initiated "the Silk Road" crossing over Europe and Asia with genuine and sincere wishes with which the East and the West began to turn the page for a new chapter in conducting cultural exchanges and mutual learning based on peaceful and pragmatic cooperation. The bilateral relations have been kept a sound development impetus and achieved fruitful results since the two sovereign states established formal diplomatic relationship 23 years ago. In May 2013, China built strategic partnership with Tajikistan, which proactively responded to the "One Belt and One Road" (OBOR) initiative and became the founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
As Mr. SUN went on and pinpointed, “CFPD is of national Non-Governmental Organization, to which the funds are mainly raised from China's enthusiastic philanthropists and donation of the general public. We have been enabled to carry out welfare activities and livelihood projects in Tajikistan by having the limited funds executed effectively and efficiently in the attempt to reflect the goodwill and amity of Chinese people towards our neighboring countries. As Chinese proverb goes, ‘neighbors longing for well same as beloved do’. Not only should Media professionals have the responsibility to objectively introduce the de facto situation and communicate demands of the two nations in order to promote mutual understanding and deepen trust, but also be promoters for mutual beneficial cooperation and communicators of friendship between two peoples. CFPD is willing to be cornerstone for building up a broader platform for the bilateral exchanges between China and Tajikistan”.
The head of the delegation lauded the CFPD for providing such a great opportunity for communication. He asserted the delegation will pass the amity and enthusiastic friendship of Chinese people on to the people in Tajikistan and report them what they have first-hand experienced in China.
The delegation started their visit to China on June 14th at the invitation of CFPD.
