2015 “Friends on the Silk Road” China-Southeast Asia Dialogue held in Shenzhen Time:2015/05/20

The “2015 ‘Friends on the Silk Road’ China-Southeast Asia Dialogue” was jointly held by the CFPD and Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation on the 14th and 15th May of 2015 in Shenzhen. The experts from renowned national think-tank, representatives from I/NGOs and government officials both from China and Southeast Asian countries accounting for over 70 participants attended the Dialogue. The subject matter for Opportunities ? Communication ? Mutual Benefit under the Framework of the “OBOR” was concentrated over through the Dialogue. Of which endorsed with two sub-topics, i.e. 1) The Strategic Mutual Trust and Friendly Neighborhoods—Shared Identity ? Silk Road and Peace, 2) The New Promising Status of China and Resulting New Opportunities Spreading amongst our Neighborhood countries—Diamond Decade ? Silk Road and Development in attempt to provide a platform for the attendees to have in-depth exchange and open-minded communication.

 

At the opening ceremony some high-level officials delivered keynote speeches, e.g. Mr. LIU Hongcai, Vice-Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Dr. Bhokin Bhalakula, former Chairman of Congress and President of the House of Commons, former Deputy Prime Minister, President of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association among others. The representatives, from different institutions and organizations including Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and Shenzhen Municipality government, Malaysian government and institutions, Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar and so forth, who gave a talk as well at the Dialogue.
