Nepal Delegation for New Media Development Seminar

From 7th to 18th March, 2015, a 15-member Nepal delegation for New Media Development seminar visited China at the invitation of CFPD. The delegation was co-headed by Mr. Pradip, Chairman of Nepal-China Media Forum, former minister of Information and Communications, Education, Water Resource, Health of Nepal, and Mr. Jay Prakash Prasad Gupta, former Minister of Industry, Agriculture, Justice and Congress Matter along with chief correspondents of mainstream media and columnists among others.
During their stay in Beijing, a cooperative MOU was signed by CFPD and the Nepal-China Media Forum. A series of topics, such as the status quo of China social development in terms of the trends and influences of new media development and other relating issues, had been deeply concentrated and discussed by the delegation and China’s experts and professionals from Renmin University during the seminars. The delegation also paid a field visit to Ministry of Foreign Affair of China, Beijing Weekly, CNC International, China News Agency, China Radio International, China Tibetology Research Center and China Association for Public Diplomacy. Except Beijing, the delegation employed a study tour to Quanzhou, Fujian Province in order to have better understanding of the current development trends of local media and social and economic advancement.
