"Ecuador: Missing of the Banana Republic" First Chinese Edition Publishing in Beijing Time:2015/01/07

 

 

The publishing ceremony of the Book (Ecuador: de Banana Republic a la No República) in the first Chinese edition was launched in Beijing on the 6th January of 2015, when President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa was on his state visit to China. During which he was personally present and delivered his keynote speech at the ceremony, where more than 200 participants actively involved in the event, including Ms. Yu Xiaoxuan, Deputy Secretary General of CFPD, diplomats, businessmen and scholars among others.

 

“The friendly relationship of our two countries has been down from generations in spite of geographically long-hall distance. Against this background the book ‘Ecuador: Missing of the Banana Republic’ was chosen as our precursor publication projects, which has been lasting for 3 years, contributing hard efforts from many. The manner in which it illustrated in an easy and straightforward way for the development step of Ecuador’s economy and the failure of the neo-liberal policies to address social and economic development. Chinese scholars and the general public shall be enabled to gain more insights on the status quo of Ecuador stretching over to Latin America and beyond. With good will of thatwe are willing to continuously implement public welfare activities, cultural and personnel exchanges, subject studies in order to further enhance mutual understanding and promote friendly relationship”, said Ms. Yu Xiaoxuan.

 

“I would like to pay my heartfelt thankfulness to the CFPD and people who have made great contribution to the Book. And I strongly believe that it is best way to demonstrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relationship establishment between China and Ecuador” said President Rafael Correa. “I am very proud of being one of those honored author, given the translating opportunities are quite thin for the renowned publication from Latin American scholars into Chinese edition”, continued   President Correa.

 

The translation cost and other overhead incurred for the Book was fully sponsored by CFPD , and it was published in theContemporary World. The President of Central Compilation press, chief editor Mr. Yin Chengdong, was served as of the master translator.
